DAMAGING WINDS, LARGE HAILSTONES and HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Ipswich, Logan, Somerset, Scenic Rim, Western Downs, South Burnett, Toowoomba, Lockyer Valley, Gold Coast and Brisbane City
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 9:05 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected near Crows Nest, Jandowae, Bell, Rathdowney and Rosevale. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east to northeast. They are forecast to affect Boonah, Laidley and Gatton by 9:35 pm and Coolangatta, Beaudesert and Esk by 10:05 pm.

Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Southeast Coast and parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Capricornia, Wide Bay and Burnett, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Maranoa and Warrego districts.

Central Highlands and Coalfields, Capricornia, Wide Bay and Burnett, Maranoa and Warrego, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce large hailstones, damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Brisbane, Dalby, Maroochydore, Gympie, Ipswich, Kingaroy, Cleveland, Gatton, Jimboomba, Coolangatta and Caboolture.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Central West district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.

Extreme heatwaves can be dangerous for everyone.
Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.
Maximum temperatures in the low to mid forties over western and central areas with overnight minimum temperatures in the mid to high twenties.
In the east maximum temperatures in the mid thirties to low forties with overnight minimum temperatures in the low to mid twenties.
Severe to extreme heatwave conditions continue to intensify in the east and are expected to contract from western parts of the State over the coming days. Severe heatwave conditions are expected to ease over the weekend in the east. Locations likely to be impacted include Brisbane Metropolitan Area, Bundaberg, Charters Towers, Emerald, Gladstone, Mackay, Mount Isa, Proserpine, Roma and Stanthorpe.
