In the east maximum temperatures in the mid thirties to low forties with overnight minimum temperatures in the low to mid twenties.
Severe to extreme heatwave conditions are expected to intensify and extend eastward over coming days to cover the majority of the state by early next week.
Heatwave conditions are expected to begin to ease over the south and west from the middle of next week but persist across the north and east.
