for Ipswich, Scenic Rim, Southern Downs, Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley Council Areas.

Individual severe thunderstorm complexes have eased but showers and thunderstorms continue, potentially producing heavy rainfall over southeast Queensland this morning.
Warning for the following areas:

Severe thunderstorms in the warning area have temporarily eased. However, the redevelopment of severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall remains possible. The situation is being closely monitored and further detailed warnings will be issued as necessary.
Cancellation for the following areas:
Toowoomba ,Southern Downs,Scenic Rim,Lockyer Valley,Ipswich
Emergency services advise people to:
* Never drive, walk, play or ride through floodwater. It is dangerous.
* Stay away from storm water drains.
* Stay away from fallen powerlines.
* Drive slowly and never drive through floodwaters. If the road is flooded or damaged, go another way.
* For storm help, call the SES on 132 500 or download the free SES Assistance QLD app.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for parts of the Southeast Coast and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts.

A cold front combines with humid and unstable atmospheric conditions to promote severe thunderstorms.
HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast
Persistent showers and severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Gatton, Jimboomba, Boonah, Beaudesert, Laidley, Mount Tamborine and Springbrook.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Wide Bay and Burnett district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.
58 MM WAS RECORDED AT MARION DOWNS IN THE 30 MINUTES TO 10:13 PM.
69 mm was recorded at Giligulgul in the 1 hour to 3:30 am.
44.0 mm was recorded at Yangan (Swan Creek) in the 30 minutes to 12:00 am.
75.6 mm was recorded at Georgetown Airport in the 1 hour to 10:33 pm.
73 mm was recorded at Roxborough Downs in the 3 hours to 10:00 pm.

Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
