for parts of Gympie, Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay Council Areas.

INTENSE RAINFALL and DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas:
Gympie, Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 7:15 pm, VERY DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORMS likely to produce heavy, locally intense rainfall that may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding and damaging winds were detected near Caboolture and the ranges between Gympie and Murgon. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east. They are forecast to affect the area southwest of Caloundra, the area southwest of Gympie and Bribie Island by 7:45 pm and Caloundra, waters off Bribie Island and Montville by 8:15 pm.

50 mm of rainfall was recorded at Dayboro (Terrors Creek) in the 30 minutes to 6:31 pm.
47 mm of rainfall was recorded at Reedy Creek in the 30 minutes to 6:03 pm.
46 mm of rainfall was recorded at Hays Landing in the 30 minutes to 5:34 pm.
41 mm of rainfall was recorded at Lowood in the 30 minutes to 5:32 pm.

Very warm and humid onshore flow is combining with a trough of low pressure to produce severe thunderstorms over parts of southeast Queensland today. Meanwhile over the central north, persistent thunderstorm activity is producing possible heavy rainfall.

Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Wide Bay and Burnett and Southeast Coast
VERY DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORMS are likely to produce heavy, locally intense rainfall that may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding and damaging winds over the next several hours in parts of the Wide Bay and Burnett and Southeast Coast districts. Locations which may be affected include Maroochydore, Gympie, Gayndah, Caboolture, Cherbourg and Caloundra.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders district. Locations which may be affected include Georgetown, Forsayth and Einasleigh.
