Initial Minor Flood Warning For The Don River

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT BOWEN PUMP STATION EARLY FRIDAY MORNING
Rainfall totals of 20- 85 mm have been observed across the Don River catchment since 9:00 am Thursday. River and creek level rises have been observed in parts of the catchment, with minor flooding possible at Bowen Pump Station early Friday morning.
Showers and the chance of thunderstorms with possible heavy rainfall at times are forecast over the next few days, which may cause further river and creek level rises. The situation is being closely monitored and warnings will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the North Tropical Coast.
Don River:
Minor flooding may occur along the Don River.
No current observations are available for the Don River at Bowen Pump Station. However, the river level is expected to be below the minor flood level and rising.
The Don River at Bowen Pump Station may peak around the minor flood level (2.50 m) early Friday morning.
