for parts of North Tropical Coast and Tablelands and Herbert and Lower Burdekin Forecast Districts.

Weather Situation
Afternoon thunderstorms are slow-moving in a moist tropical airmass, with the risk of isolated heavy rainfall.
HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
North Tropical Coast and Tablelands and Herbert and Lower Burdekin
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Abergowrie.

Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.

The next warning is due to be issued by 9:20 pm.

Minor Flood Warning For The Herbert River

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT GLENEAGLE
Moderate to heavy rainfall across the Herbert River catchment during Saturday and into Sunday has caused river level rises along the upper Herbert River and its tributaries. Minor flooding is estimated to be easing at Gleneagle, following a minor flood peak overnight Monday into Tuesday. River level rises are expected along the lower Herbert River for the remainder of Tuesday and into Wednesday, but are expected to remain below minor flood levels.
The chance of showers and thunderstorms is forecast for the next few days, but rainfall totals are not expected to significantly impact river levels in the upper or lower Herbert.

Herbert River to Nash's Crossing:
Minor flooding is estimated to be occurring at Gleneagle.
No observations are currently available for the Herbert River at Gleneagle Homestead, however, based on readings from the nearby auto gauge, the river level is expected to be above the minor flood level and falling.
The Herbert River at Gleneagle Homestead is likely to fall below the minor flood level (4.50 m) Tuesday afternoon.

Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.

Moderate Flood Warning For The Suttor River

MODERATE FLOODING MAY CONTINUE AT ST ANNS INTO WEDNESDAY
Moderate to heavy rainfall was observed across parts of the Burdekin River catchment during the last week, with particularly heavy falls over parts of the Belyando and Suttor River catchments. Moderate flooding may continue along the Suttor River at St Anns for the remainder of Tuesday and into Wednesday.
A chance of showers and thunderstorms is forecast across parts of the Burdekin River catchment over the next few days. This rainfall is not expected to cause significant additional river level rises.

Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Suttor River at St Anns.
The Suttor River at St Anns is currently at 6.93 m and steady, with moderate flooding.
The Suttor River at St Anns may remain above the moderate flood level (6.50 m) for the remainder of Tuesday and into Wednesday as upstream flows arrive.
