for Damaging Winds, Large Hailstones And Heavy Rainfall
for Sunshine Coast and parts of Gympie, Somerset, Scenic Rim, Southern Downs, Gold Coast, Noosa and Moreton Bay Council Areas.

Severe thunderstorms continuing across the southeast.
DAMAGING WINDS, LARGE HAILSTONES and HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Gympie, Somerset, Scenic Rim, Southern Downs, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Moreton Bay
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 4:45 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected near Beaudesert, Kilcoy, Caloundra and the ranges between Gympie and Murgon. These thunderstorms are moving towards the northeast to southeast. They are forecast to affect the area southwest of Caloundra, waters off Caloundra and the area southwest of Gympie by 5:15 pm and Maroochydore, Pomona and the area northwest of Warwick by 5:45 pm.
61 mm was recorded at Mt Berryman Road in the 30 minutes to 3:45 pm.
55 mm was recorded at Mulgowie Rd in the 30 minutes to 3:50 pm.
52 mm was recorded at Rockside Mt in the 30 minutes to 3:45 pm.
Cancellation for the following areas:
Brisbane,South Burnett,Cherbourg,Ipswich,Logan
Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Southeast Coast and parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Wide Bay and Burnett, Maranoa and Warrego and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts.
The next warning is due to be issued by 5:50 pm.
