Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Southeast Queensland
for Damaging Winds, Large Hailstones And Heavy Rainfall

for parts of Western Downs, South Burnett and Toowoomba Council Areas.

DAMAGING WINDS, LARGE HAILSTONES and HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Western Downs, South Burnett and Toowoomba
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 9:45 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected. Thunderstorms are moving towards the north to northeast. They are forecast to affect the area southwest of Dalby by 10:15 pm and the area west of Kingaroy, the area west of Dalby and the ranges north of Jandowae by 10:45 pm.

Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Wide Bay and Burnett, Maranoa and Warrego and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts.

The next warning is due to be issued by 10:55 pm.
Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and emergency services would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.

Severe thunderstorms continue across parts of the southern interior and southeast.

Weather Situation
Slow moving thunderstorms developing in a moist and unstable environment to the east of a trough this afternoon through parts of the southeast.
DAMAGING WINDS, LARGE HAILSTONES and HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Central Highlands and Coalfields, Wide Bay and Burnett, Maranoa and Warrego and Darling Downs and Granite Belt
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Dalby, St George, Springsure, Carnarvon National Park, Hebel and Mungindi.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Central West and Southeast Coast districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.
Cancellation for the following areas:
Central West,Southeast Coast
