Minor Flood Warning For The Upper Dawson River

MINOR FLOODING LIKELY AT TAROOM OVERNIGHT SUNDAY INTO MONDAY
Recent moderate to heavy rainfall across the Upper Dawson River catchment has caused rises in river and creek levels. Minor flooding is likely along the Dawson River at Taroom overnight Sunday into Monday.
Further showers and thunderstorms are possible during the next few days. The situation is being closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for the adjoining catchments.

Dawson River to Theodore:
Minor flooding is likely along the Dawson River to Theodore.
The Dawson River at Taroom is currently at 3.64 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Dawson River at Taroom is likely to exceed the minor flood level (4.50 m) overnight Sunday into Monday. The river may peak near 5.00 m early Monday morning, with minor flooding.

Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.

Final Flood Warning For The Burrum River

MINOR FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED AT HOWARD
Moderate to heavy rainfall over the catchment has been observed since Friday which has led to some river level rises. River levels are now easing, with minor flooding no longer expected at Howard.
Further showers and thunderstorms are possible for the remainder of Sunday, however, rainfall totals are not expected to significantly impact river levels.
A Flood Watch is current for adjacent catchments.

Burrum and Cherwell Rivers:
Minor flooding is no longer expected along the Burrum River at Howard.
The Burrum River at Howard is currently at 4.91 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Burrum River at Howard is expected to remain below the minor flood level (6.00 m).
