Minor Flood Warning For The Suttor River
Issued at 01:29 PM AEST on Thursday 12 March 2026

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT ST ANNS FROM AROUND SATURDAY
Recent moderate to heavy rainfall over parts of the Belyando and Suttor river catchments has caused river level rises in the upper catchment. Minor flooding is possible along the Suttor River at St Anns from around Saturday as upstream flows arrive.
Elevated river levels are occurring along the lower Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam, however river levels are expected to remain below the minor flood level.

Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding is possible along the Suttor River.
The Suttor River at St Anns is currently at 1.52 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Suttor River at St Anns may reach around the minor flood level (4.00 m) from around Saturday. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.

Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.

Minor Flood Warning For The Herbert River

MINOR FLOODING ESTIMATED TO BE OCCURRING AT GLENEAGLE
MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT ABERGOWRIE BRIDGE FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON
Recent rainfall over the Herbert catchment has resulted in creek and river level rises. The river level at Gleneagle Homestead is likely to remain above the minor flood level for the remainder of Thursday and into Friday.
Showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the next few days, which may lead to renewed river level rises and minor flooding at Abergowrie Bridge from Thursday afternoon.

Herbert River to Nash's Crossing:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Herbert River to Nash's Crossing.
No observations are currently available for the Herbert River at Gleneagle Homestead. Based on the nearby automatic gauge, it is estimated that the river level at Gleneagle Homestead is currently above the minor flood level and falling.
The Herbert River at Gleneagle Homestead is likely to remain above the minor flood level (4.50 m) for the remainder of Thursday and into Friday.

Herbert River downstream of Nash's Crossing:
Minor flooding is possible along the Herbert River downstream of Nash's Crossing at Abergowrie Bridge.
The Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge is currently at 5.07 m and rising, below the minor flood level (6.00 m).
With forecast rainfall, renewed river level rises and minor flooding is possible along the Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge from Thursday afternoon.
