DAMAGING WINDS and LARGE HAILSTONES for the following areas:
Ipswich, Somerset, Scenic Rim, Lockyer Valley and Gold Coast
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 6:55 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones were detected. Thunderstorms are moving towards the north to northeast. They are forecast to affect Laidley, Rathdowney and Kooralbyn by 7:25 pm and Beaudesert, the area south of Esk and Laravale by 7:55 pm.
Cancellation for the following areas:
Toowoomba ,Southern Downs
Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones over the next several hours in parts of the Southeast Coast district. Locations which may be affected include Gatton, Laidley, Lowood, Boonah and Beaudesert.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the North Tropical Coast and Tablelands and Herbert and Lower Burdekin districts. Locations which may be affected include Tully, Cardwell and Lucinda.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Darling Downs and Granite Belt district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.
