A humid and unstable airmass is in place with a southeasterly wind change moving through the southeast. Severe thunderstorms are moving to the north and are expected to continue for the next few hours before easing in the late evening.
DAMAGING WINDS, LARGE HAILSTONES and HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Wide Bay and Burnett
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Gin Gin, K'gari and Tiaro.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Herbert and Lower Burdekin, Central Coast and Whitsundays, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Channel Country, Maranoa and Warrego and Southeast Coast districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.

Severe to extreme heatwave conditions currently around the state are expected to intensify in the east early this week before easing from the middle of the week. Conditions in the south and west are expected to ease from the middle of the week and contract to the east. Locations likely to be impacted include Brisbane Metropolitan Area, Charters Towers, Clermont, Cloncurry, Charleville, Gladstone, Longreach, Mount Isa, Rockhampton and Winton.

RENEWED RISES AND MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT BARALABA LATER THIS WEEK
A flood peak is moving down the Upper Dawson River and is nearing Gyranda Weir. This peak, in combination with forecast rainfall and storms from late Wednesday, may result in renewed river level rises and minor flooding along the Dawson River at Baralaba.

Dawson River downstream of Theodore:
Minor flooding is possible along the Dawson River at Baralaba later this week.
No observations are currently available for the Dawson River at Moura, however based on the nearby automatic gauge the river level is estimated to be below the minor flood level (6.00 m) and falling.
The Dawson River at Moura is likely to remain below the minor flood level (6.00 m).

Renewed river level rises and minor flooding (4.00 m) are possible along the Dawson River at Baralaba from later this week as upstream peaks arrive and in combination with forecast rainfall.
