Flood Warning Number: 33
MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT YAAMBA, WITH A PEAK NEAR THE MODERATE FLOOD LEVEL (7.50 METRES) LIKELY AT ROCKHAMPTON FROM THURSDAY MORNING
MODERATE FLOODING EASING AT YATTON
Several flood peaks are currently moving through the Fitzroy River catchment. The main flood peak is moving through the lower Fitzroy River and approaching South Yaamba on Wednesday morning. A second peak is moving along the Mackenzie River and is currently between Bingegang Weir and Tartrus but is not expected to cause any significant increase in water levels along the lower Mackenzie River. Along the Isaac River, moderate flood levels are easing after small renewed river level rises earlier in the week.
River level rises along the lower Fitzroy River are expected to continue during Wednesday and into Thursday as the flood peak moves slowly towards Rockhampton. Moderate flooding is expected to have peaked early Wednesday morning at Yaamba. Rockhampton exceeded the minor flood level overnight Tuesday into Wednesday and is likely to peak near the moderate flood level (7.50 m) from Thursday morning.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible over the next few days, which may cause small renewed river level rises in parts of the catchment, but are not expected to significantly impact river levels along the Fitzroy River.

River levels are generally easing along Theresa Creek and the Nogoa River, but remain elevated.

Renewed river level rises are possible from Wednesday as upstream flows arrive but the Mackenzie River at Tartrus is expected to remain below the minor flood level (11.00 m).
Fitzroy River:
Minor to moderate flooding is occurring along the Fitzroy River. A peak near the moderate flood level is likely at Rockhampton.
As at 7:41am Wednesday, the Fitzroy River at Yaamba was at 14.00 m and steady, with moderate flooding.
The Fitzroy River at Yaamba is expected to ease slowly over the next few days but remain above the moderate flood level (12.00 m).
