Severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts tracking across the southeast.

DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas:
Ipswich, Logan, Somerset, Scenic Rim, Western Downs, South Burnett, Toowoomba, Lockyer Valley, Gold Coast, Redland City, Brisbane City and Moreton Bay
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 10:25 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce damaging winds were detected near Laidley, Dalby, Gatton and Canungra. These thunderstorms are moving towards the northeast. They are forecast to affect Ipswich, the area south of Esk and the area southwest of Esk by 10:55 pm and Brisbane CBD, Esk and Crows Nest by 11:25 pm.
109 km/h wind gust recorded at Dalby at 10:16 pm.
107 km/h wind gust recorded at Goondiwindi Airport at 6:26 pm.

Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Southeast Coast and parts of the Wide Bay and Burnett and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts.

The next warning is due to be issued by 11:30 pm.
