Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Southeast Queensland
for Intense Rainfall
for Cherbourg and parts of Ipswich, Logan, Somerset, South Burnett, Toowoomba, Brisbane City and Redland City Council Areas.

Severe thunderstorms continuing in the Darling Downs, Scenic Rim, Toowoomba, and developing over the Western Downs and Burnett region.
INTENSE RAINFALL for the following areas:
Cherbourg, Ipswich, Logan, Somerset, South Burnett, Toowoomba, Redland City and Brisbane City
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 7:35 pm, a VERY DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORM likely to produce heavy, locally intense rainfall that may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding was detected near the area northwest of Kingaroy. This thunderstorm is moving towards the north. It is forecast to affect the area north of Kingaroy and the area south of Lake Boondooma by 8:05 pm and Proston, Wondai and Murgon by 8:35 pm.
Other severe thunderstorms likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected near Greenbank and Wacol. These thunderstorms are moving towards the northeast. They are forecast to affect Brisbane CBD, Woodridge and Sunnybank Hills by 8:05 pm and Slacks Creek, Tingalpa Reservoir and Manly by 8:35 pm.
60.mm was recorded at Jimna in the 30 minutes to 2:55pm.

A very moist atmosphere is in place over most of the state extending from a low pressure system and developing monsoon in place over the Northern Territory. Slow moving severe thunderstorms have developed in this moist and unstable environment and are likely to persist throughout the afternoon and into the evening.

Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Herbert and Lower Burdekin, Central Coast and Whitsundays, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Capricornia, Wide Bay and Burnett, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Herbert and Lower Burdekin, Central Coast and Whitsundays, Central Highlands and Coalfields and Capricornia districts. Locations which may be affected include Moranbah, Pentland, Dysart, Nebo and Torrens Creek.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Wide Bay and Burnett, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast districts. Locations which may be affected include Brisbane, Kingaroy, Ipswich, Redcliffe, Gatton and Jimboomba.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Maranoa and Warrego district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.
