Minor Flood Warning For The Murray River

MINOR FLOODING ESTIMATED TO BE OCCURRING AT MURRAY FLATS
Heavy rainfall over parts of the Murray River catchment Sunday night into Monday has led to river level rises. Flooding has been observed in the upper Murray which is now easing. Minor flooding is estimated to be occurring at Murray Flats.
Further rainfall is forecast into Tuesday which may cause further river level rises. This warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Cape York Peninsula, Gulf of Carpentaria and North East Coastal Rivers.
Murray River:
River levels are elevated and minor flooding estimated to be occurring along the Murray River.
No observations are currently available for the Murray River at Murray Flats. Based on the upstream gauge, it is estimated that the river level at Murray Flats is around the minor flood level.
The Murray River at Murray Flats may remain around the minor flood level (7.00 m) Monday afternoon. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
