Major flooding is occurring along the lower Flinders River at Walkers Bend. Following recent renewed rises, river levels at Walkers Bend are approaching a major flood peak.
No significant rainfall totals are forecast over the next few days.

Flinders River downstream of Richmond:
Major flooding is occurring along the Flinders River downstream of Richmond.
The Flinders River at Walkers Bend is currently at 8.39 m and steady, with major flooding.
The Flinders River at Walkers Bend is approaching a major flood peak during Wednesday. The river may remain above the major flood level (8.00 m) over the next few days.

Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.

Moderate Flood Warning For The Diamantina River

NEAR MODERATE FLOOD PEAK POSSIBLE AT BIRDSVILLE FROM THE WEEKEND
A moderate flood peak observed at Monkira last week is approaching Birdsville, where minor flooding is occurring. Upstream at Durrie Station, a second peak is approaching and river levels are slowly rising. As these flows move downstream, further small renewed rises are likely at Roseberth and Birdsville over the next few days. River levels are likely to peak near the moderate level at Birdsville from the weekend as flows from upstream Durrie Station arrive. Peak forecasts will be refined as upstream peaks are observed.

Diamantina River to Diamantina Lakes:
The Diamantina River at Diamantina Lakes is currently at 4.66 m and rising, above the moderate flood level (4.00 m) and well above the Springvale Diamantina Lakes Road Causeway level (2.10 m).
Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes:
Moderate flooding is occurring at Roseberth Station and minor flooding is occurring at Monkira. River levels at Durrie Station and Birdsville are rising with minor flooding.
The Diamantina River at Birdsville Police Station is currently at 5.50 m and steady, with minor flooding (4.00 m).
The Diamantina River at Birdsville Police Station may peak near the moderate flood level (6.00 m) from the weekend. Peak forecasts will be refined as upstream peaks are observed.

Major Flood Warning For The Georgina River And Eyre Creek

MAJOR FLOODING CONTINUES AT GLENGYLE
MAJOR FLOODING EASING SLOWLY AT MARION DOWNS AND BEDOURIE
A second major flood peak along Eyre Creek has passed Bedourie and is around Glengyle, where renewed rises above the major flood level are possible through to the weekend.
This situation is being monitored and this warning will be updated as required.

Georgina River to Marion Downs:
River levels continue to fall along the Georgina River between Roxborough Downs and Marion Downs. Major flooding continues at Marion Downs. Moderate flooding is occurring at Glenormiston and minor flooding is occurring at Roxborough Downs.
As at 09:00 am Tuesday, the Georgina River at Marion Downs was at 5.34 m and falling slowly, just above the major flood level (5.00 m).
The Georgina River at Marion Downs may remain around the major flood level (5.00 m) for the remainder of Wednesday into Thursday. The river is likely to remain above the moderate flood level (4.00 m) through to the weekend.

Georgina River downstream of Marion Downs:
River levels are elevated but are slowly falling along the Georgina River downstream of Marion Downs. Major flooding continues to ease along King Creek at Cluny.
Eyre Creek:
Major flooding continues at Glengyle and Bedourie.
As at 3:40 pm Tuesday, Eyre Creek at Bedourie was at 5.00 m and steady, with major flooding.
Eyre Creek at Bedourie may remain around the major flood level (5.00 m) for the remainder of Wednesday into Thursday. The creek is likely to remain above the moderate flood level (4.00 m) through to early next week.

The Eyre Creek at Glengyle is likely to remain above the major flood level (4.00 m) through to the weekend, with renewed rises possible as upstream flows arrive.
