for Heavy Rainfall
for parts of Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders and Herbert and Lower Burdekin Forecast Districts.

Slow moving showers and thunderstorms are producing heavy rainfall this morning for parts of the tropical coast.
Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure is directing moist onshore flow over the Herbert and Lower Burdekin producing persistent and slow moving showers and thunderstorms leading to heavy rainfall.
HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders and Herbert and Lower Burdekin
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Townsville, Ayr, Greenvale, Rollingstone, Giru and Alva Beach.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Central Coast and Whitsundays, Central Highlands and Coalfields and Central West districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.
90 mm was recorded at Lolworth Creek in the 3 hours to 2:12am.
87 mm was recorded at Betanga Alert in the 6 hours to 1:20am.

Central Coast and Whitsundays,Central Highlands and Coalfields,Central West

* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.

* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.

Initial Moderate Flood Warning For The Isaac River Catchment And Minor Flood Warning For The Dawson River

MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT YATTON FROM SATURDAY MORNING
MINOR FLOODING MAY CONTINUE AT BARALABA FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS
Moderate to heavy rainfall since Thursday morning has caused river rises across the upper parts of the Isaac River. Minor flooding is likely at Yatton from Friday evening and moderate flooding is possible from Saturday morning.
Along the Upper Dawson River, the flood peak has moved downstream of the Theodore Weir. Further downstream at Baralaba, minor flooding is expected to be occurring.
Further showers and thunderstorms are forecast across the catchment during the next few days, which may lead to additional river level rises. This warning will be updated as required.
Dawson River downstream of Theodore:
Minor flooding is expected to be occurring along the Dawson River downstream of Theodore.
No current observations are available for the Dawson River at Baralaba. Based on the nearby automatic gauge, the river level is estimated to be above the minor flood level (4.00 m) and falling.
The Dawson River at Baralaba may remain above the minor flood level (4.00 m) for the next few days. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
Connors and Isaac Rivers:
Minor to moderate flooding possible along the Isaac River.
The Isaac River at Yatton is currently at 3.24 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Isaac River at Yatton is likely to exceed the minor flood level (7.50 m) Friday evening. The river may reach around the moderate flood level (9.50 m) Saturday morning. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

MINOR FLOODING TO CONTINUE AT TAEMAS
Moderate to heavy rainfall during last few days has caused river level rises along the Cape River with minor flooding occurring at Taemas.
Further showers and thunderstorms are forecast across the catchment over the next few days, which may cause additional river level rises. The situation is being monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch for parts of Northern Queensland and the Cape York Peninsula is current.
Cape River to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding is occurring at Taemas.
The Cape River at Taemas peaked at 6.76 m around 8:00 am Wednesday, with minor flooding. The river is currently at 6.61 m and falling, with minor flooding.
The Cape River at Taemas is expected to remain above the minor flood level (5.00 m) for the remainder of Thursday and into Friday.

MINOR FLOODING NO LONGER OCCURRING AT AUGATHELLA
Moderate to heavy rainfall observed across parts of the Warrego River catchment over the weekend resulted in river level rises along the upper Warrego River. At Augathella river levels peaked Tuesday morning with minor flooding, and fell below the minor flood level Tuesday afternoon.
At Charleville, river levels are expected to peak below the minor flood level.
Warrego River to Charleville:
Minor flooding is no longer occurring at Augathella.
The Warrego River at Augathella peaked at 4.45 m around 08:15 am Tuesday, with minor flooding. The river is currently at 2.11 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Warrego River at Augathella is likely to remain below the minor flood level (4.00 m).
