Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Southeast Queensland
for Damaging Winds, Heavy Rainfall And Large Hailstones
for Toowoomba and parts of Somerset, Southern Downs, South Burnett, Lockyer Valley and Western Downs Council Areas.

DAMAGING WINDS, HEAVY RAINFALL and LARGE HAILSTONES for the following areas:
Somerset, Southern Downs, Western Downs, South Burnett, Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 8:20 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce damaging winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones were detected near Mt Mowbullan and the area west of Warwick. These thunderstorms are moving towards the southeast. They are forecast to affect Warwick, Millmerran and the area northwest of Warwick by 8:50 pm and Stanthorpe, Toowoomba and Pittsworth by 9:20 pm.

Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for parts of the Wide Bay and Burnett, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast districts.
The next warning is due to be issued by 9:30 pm.
