Severe Weather Warning
for Damaging, Locally Destructive Winds

for Mount Lofty Ranges, Kangaroo Island, Upper South East, Lower South East and parts of Mid North and Murraylands districts.

DAMAGING WINDS DEVELOPING OVER THE SOUTHEAST DURING WEDNESDAY MORNING, WITH DESTRUCTIVE WIND GUSTS POSSIBLE ABOUT THE SOUTHEAST COAST FROM MID MORNING.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system deepening to the south of Kangaroo Island and will move rapidly to the east-southeast, tracking just offshore from the SA lower southeast coast later Wednesday morning before clearing east into Bass Strait Wednesday afternoon.
DAMAGING, LOCALLY DESTRUCTIVE WINDS for the following areas:
Mount Lofty Ranges, Mid North, Kangaroo Island, Murraylands, Upper South East and Lower South East
Strong northwest to westerly winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with DAMAGING GUSTS to 100 km/h are likely to develop over Kangaroo Island, the Mount Lofty Ranges and the southeast coast during Wednesday morning, extending to the remainder of the southeast within the warning area during the late morning.
DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 80 km/h with gusts to 100 to 120 km/h are likely about the coast southeast of Robe during the mid to late morning on Wednesday, with the risk of DESTRUCTIVE WIND GUSTS to 130 km/h.
Conditions are expected to ease gradually from the west during the late morning and early to mid afternoon on Wednesday.
Locations which may be affected include Mount Gambier, Murray Bridge, Kingscote, Naracoorte, Keith and Victor Harbor.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Keep clear of fallen power lines;
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.

The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 11:00 am ACDT Wednesday.
Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.

Warning to Sheep Graziers

for Mount Lofty Ranges, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, Flinders, Mid North, Murraylands, Upper South East and Lower South East forecast districts

Issued at 04:08 AM CDT on Wednesday 22 October 2025

Warning to Sheep Graziers for the following areas:
Mount Lofty Ranges, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, Flinders, Mid North, Murraylands, Upper South East and Lower South East forecast districts
Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, rain and showers and strong southwesterly winds are expected during Wednesday. Areas likely to be affected include the Mount Lofty Ranges, Kangaroo Island, Mid North, Upper South East and Lower South East forecast districts and parts of the Lower Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Flinders and Murraylands forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.

The next warning will be issued by 11:00 am CDT Wednesday.
