for Western, Upper Derwent Valley and South East Forecast Districts.

Damaging winds in the south have eased.

Weather Situation
A burst of westerlies over the south of the state caused damaging winds about peaks and lee slopes on Wednesday morning.
cancellation of severe weather warning for the following areas:
Western, Upper Derwent Valley and South East
This warning is now cancelled. Other warnings may be current. Please check www.bom.gov.au/australia/warnings/.
142 km/h wind gust was observed at Kunanyi at 9:39 pm EDT on Tuesday
Sustained 118 km/h winds were observed at Kunanyi at 9:39 pm EDT on Tuesday

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Supervise children closely.
* Do not walk, ride or drive through flood waters.
* Beware of damaged trees and power lines and take care when driving.
* Listen to the ABC radio or check www.ses.tas.gov.au for further advice.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132500.

No further warnings will be issued for this event.
