Damaging winds persisting in the wake of a vigorous cold front crossing Tasmania

Weather Situation
A vigorous frontal system moved across Tasmania today resulting in widespread damaging winds. The risk of damaging winds remains about northeastern, central and southwestern Tasmania, which will gradually ease into early Saturday.
DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas:
Western, Upper Derwent Valley, South East, North East, East Coast, North West Coast, Central North, Central Plateau and Midlands
DAMAGING WINDS averaging 55 to 65 km/h with peak gusts around 100 km/h are possible this evening and early Saturday. For elevated and exposed areas, DAMAGING WINDS may average 65 to 75 km/h with peak gusts around 115 km/h.
Winds are expected to ease below warning thresholds early Saturday morning, but will remain gusty.
Locations which may be affected include St Helens, Strahan, Bicheno, Bridport, Fingal, Friendly Beaches and Strathgordon.

Warning to Sheep Graziers for the following areas:
North West Coast, Central North, North East, Midlands, East Coast, Upper Derwent Valley and South East forecast districts
Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, showers and westerly winds are expected during Friday and Saturday. Areas likely to be affected include the Midlands, Upper Derwent Valley and South East forecast districts and parts of the North West Coast, Central North, North East and East Coast forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.

MINOR FLOODING LIKELY AT KIMBERLEY EARLY FRIDAY EVENING
Moderate rainfall totals were recorded over the Mersey River catchment during Thursday and Friday morning, with further rainfall forecast for the remainder of Friday into Saturday. Minor flooding is likely along the Mersey River at Kimberley early Friday evening.

Mersey River - Liena to Kimberley:
Minor flooding likely along the Mersey River at Kimberley.
The Mersey River at Kimberley is currently at 2.26 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Mersey River at Kimberley is likely to exceed the minor flood level (2.40 m) early Friday evening. The river may reach around 2.60 m early Saturday morning, with minor flooding.

Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT STRATHBRIDGE OVERNIGHT FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY
Moderate rainfall totals have been recorded across the Meander River catchment in the 24 hours to 9:00 am Friday. Further moderate rainfall with locally heavy falls are possible for the remainder of Friday and into Saturday. The catchment is wet following recent rainfall. Minor flooding is possible along the Meander River at Strathbridge overnight Friday into Saturday.

Minor flooding is possible along the Meander River around Strathbridge.
The Meander River at Strathbridge is currently at 2.11 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Meander River at Strathbridge may exceed the minor flood level (5.00 m) overnight Friday into Saturday. The river may peak near 5.60 m Saturday afternoon, with minor flooding.
