Cancellation Of Severe Weather Warning

for East Gippsland, North East and West and South Gippsland Forecast Districts.

Damaging winds have now eased over elevated Alpine areas.

Weather Situation
A trough continues to progress through the far east of the state and will eventually move into the Tasman by the early afternoon. The strong northwesterly winds over elevated Alpine regions ahead of the trough have now eased.
cancellation of severe weather warning for the following areas:
East Gippsland, North East and West and South Gippsland
This warning is now cancelled. Other warnings may be current. Please check www.bom.gov.au/australia/warnings/.
119 km/h gust observed at Mount Hotham at 6:27 am
119 km/h gust observed at Mount Buller at 5:31 am.
93 km/h gust observed at Falls Creek at 5:14 am.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Stay away from fallen powerlines - always assume they are live.
* Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.

No further warnings will be issued for this event.
Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.

Warning to Sheep Graziers

for Northern Country, North Central, North East, Central, West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts

Issued at 04:58 AM EDT on Saturday 29 November 2025

Warning to Sheep Graziers for the following areas:
Northern Country, North Central, North East, Central, West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts
Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, rain and showers and southwesterly winds are expected during Saturday. Areas likely to be affected include the West and South Gippsland forecast district and parts of the Northern Country, North Central, North East, Central and East Gippsland forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.

The next warning will be issued by 11:00 am EDT Saturday.
