Cancellation Of Severe Thunderstorm Warning

for Mallee, Northern Country and Wimmera Forecast Districts.

While thunderstorms continue in the northwest, they are no longer severe.

Weather Situation
Scattered thunderstorms continue ahead of a surface trough situated in far northwest of the state. Thunderstorms are no longer severe.
cancellation of severe thunderstorm warning for the following areas:
Mallee, Northern Country and Wimmera
This warning is now cancelled.
107 km/h wind gust was recorded at Swan Hill Airport at 2:00 pm.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Stay away from fallen powerlines - always assume they are live.
* Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.

No further warnings will be issued for this event.

Fire Weather Warning

for Mallee and Wimmera fire weather districts

Issued at 04:24 AM EDT on Friday 19 December 2025

Weather Situation
Hot and dry conditions over northwest Victoria, with fresh and gusty northwesterly winds, shifting to fresh and gusty southwesterly from the late afternoon into the evening will cause elevated fire dangers during Friday.

Mallee and Wimmera

The CFA advises that you:
Action your Bushfire Survival Plan now.
Monitor the fire and weather situation through ABC Local Radio, commercial and designated community radio stations, or Sky News TV, www.emergency.vic.gov.au and www.bom.gov.au.
