Final Flood Warning For The Avon River
Issued at 10:42 AM EDT on Wednesday 12 February 2025
Flood Warning Number: 4
FLOODING IS NO LONGER OCCURRING AT STRATFORD
No significant rainfall has been recorded in the Avon River catchment since 9:00 am Tuesday.
Showers and possible thunderstorms are forecast for Friday and into the weekend. Renewed river level rises are possible with forecast rainfall but river levels are expected remain below the minor level.
The situation is being monitored, and any further warnings will be issued as necessary.
Avon River:
No further flooding is expected in the Avon River.
The Avon River at Stratford is currently at 2.75 metres and steady, below the minor flood level (4.50 m).

SES advises that all community members should:
Never walk, ride or drive through floodwater,
Never allow children to play in floodwater,
Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains during and after heavy rain,
Keep well clear of fallen power lines
Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks, and heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads.}
