MODERATE FLOOD PEAK LIKELY AT GLENALADALE TUESDAY MORNING
Since 9:00 am Monday 40-100 mm of rain has fallen across the Mitchell River catchment. Rain is forecast to ease during Tuesday.
Minor flooding is occurring at Glenaladale where the river level is likely to peak around the moderate flood level during Tuesday morning.
Mitchell River to Glenaladale:
Moderate flooding is likely along the Mitchell River to Glenaladale.
The Mitchell River at Glenaladale is currently at 4.43 metres and rising, above the minor flood level (3.00 m).
The Mitchell River at Glenaladale is likely to peak around the moderate flood level (4.50 m) Tuesday morning.
Flood Safety Advice:
SES advises that all community members should:
Never walk, ride or drive through floodwater,
Never allow children to play in floodwater,
Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains during and after heavy rain,
Keep well clear of fallen power lines
Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks, and heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads.}
