Cancellation Of Severe Weather Warning
for East Gippsland Forecast District.

Heavy rainfall is no longer expected in East Gippsland this morning.
Weather Situation
An upper low and surface trough offshore in the Tasman Sea is generating areas of rain about East Gippsland this morning, though rainfall rates are now expected to remain below warning thresholds as the strongest convergence is expected to remain offshore.

Severe weather is no longer occurring in Victoria.
The immediate threat of severe weather has passed, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary.
- 69mm of rainfall has been recorded at Reeves Knob since 9am to 4pm Monday.
- 52mm of rainfall has been recorded at Crooked River since 9am to 4pm Monday.
- 107.8mm of rainfall has been recorded at Mt Moornapa in the last 24hours to 9am Monday.
- 101.4mm of rainfall has been recorded at Orbost in the last 24hours to 9am Monday.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Stay away from fallen powerlines - always assume they are live.
* Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
No further warnings will be issued for this event.
