Severe storms have now moved east into southern NSW.
Weather Situation A surface trough has moved through the far northeast of the state this evening and the band of severe thunderstorms around the trough has now progressed over the border into NSW. cancellation of severe thunderstorm warning for the following areas: East Gippsland and North East This warning is now cancelled. 33.6 mm was recorded at Albury Airport in the 1 hour to 7:00 pm. 102 km/h wind gust was recorded at Falls Creek at 5:30 pm. 115 km/h wind gust was recorded at Mount Buller Airport at 5:00 pm.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Stay away from fallen powerlines - always assume they are live. * Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees. * Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
