for Central and East Gippsland forecast districts

Warning to Sheep Graziers for the following areas:
Central and East Gippsland forecast districts
Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, rain and showers and southwesterly winds are expected during Friday and Saturday. Areas likely to be affected include parts of the Central and East Gippsland forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.
Cancellation of Warning to Sheep Graziers for the following areas:
Mallee, Wimmera, Northern Country, North Central, North East, South West and West and South Gippsland forecast districts
The Warning to Sheep Graziers for the Mallee, Wimmera, Northern Country, North Central, North East, South West and West and South Gippsland forecast districts has been cancelled.

The next warning will be issued by 5:00 am EDT Saturday.

Cancellation Of Severe Weather Warning

for East Gippsland, North East and West and South Gippsland Forecast Districts.

Issued at 9:45 pm Friday, 27 March 2026.

Winds have eased over the east.

Weather Situation
A vigorous coastal low over the southern Tasman Sea has moved further to the east. This has led to an easing of severe conditions over Victoria.
cancellation of severe weather warning for the following areas:
East Gippsland, North East and West and South Gippsland
This warning is now cancelled.
Flood warnings remain current over the area. See https://www.bom.gov.au/weather-and-climate/warnings-and-alerts for details.
126 km/h gust at Mt Hotham at 12:00 pm
111 km/h gust at Falls Creek at 11:47 pm.
113 km/h gust at Gabo Island at 10:13 am.
118 km/h gust at Mallacoota at 10:07 am.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Stay away from fallen powerlines - always assume they are live.
* Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.

No further warnings will be issued for this event.
