Cancellation Of Severe Weather Warning

for Central, East Gippsland, South West, North Central, North East and West and South Gippsland Forecast Districts.

Winds have weakened but gusty showers and storms continue in some parts.

Weather Situation
Winds have eased as the cold front moves through the state and are expected to remain below severe thresholds through Thursday, before picking up again on Friday.

Central, East Gippsland, South West, North Central, North East and West and South Gippsland
This warning is now cancelled. Other warnings may be current. Please check www.bom.gov.au/australia/warnings/.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Stay away from fallen powerlines - always assume they are live.
* Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.

No further warnings will be issued for this event.
Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.

Warning to Sheep Graziers

for North Central, North East, South West, Central, West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts

Issued at 04:34 PM EST on Wednesday 27 August 2025

Warning to Sheep Graziers for the following areas:
North Central, North East, South West, Central, West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts
Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, showers and northwesterly winds are expected during Wednesday evening and Thursday. Areas likely to be affected include the South West and West and South Gippsland forecast districts and parts of the North Central, North East, Central and East Gippsland forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.

The next warning will be issued by 11:00 pm EST Wednesday.
