Cancellation Of Severe Weather Warning

for Central West, Lower West, Great Southern and Central Wheat Belt districts.

Issued at 3:45 pm Tuesday, 19 August 2025.

Weather Situation
The initial frontal boundary has now moved inland, will periods of moderate rainfall expected with showers and thunderstorms in the hours following the front.
cancellation of severe weather warning for the following areas:
Central West, Lower West, Great Southern and Central Wheat Belt
This warning is now cancelled. Other warnings may be current. Please check www.bom.gov.au/australia/warnings/.
44.0 mm was recorded at Balingup in the 3 hours to 5:38 am.
24.2 mm was recorded at Manjimup in the 1 hour to 4:15 am.
111 km/h wind gust was recorded at Cape Leeuwin at 2:14 am.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Keep away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
* Be careful of fallen trees, damaged buildings and debris.
* Be careful of fallen power lines. They are dangerous and should always be treated as live.;
* Assess your home, car and property for damage.;
* If damage has occurred take photos and contact your insurance company to organise permanent repairs.
* If your home or property has significant damage, like a badly damaged roof or flooding, call the SES on 132500.

No further warnings will be issued for this event.
