    Severe Weather Warning 
    for Heavy Rainfall
    
    for parts of Kimberley district.
    
    Issued at 3:56 pm Tuesday, 30 December 2025.
    
    Heavy rainfall possible from Wednesday morning in the remnants of Severe Tropical Cyclone Hayley.
    
    Weather Situation
    At 3pm, Severe Tropical Cyclone Hayley is situated 90 km west of Cape Leveque and moving eastwards. As Hayley weakens over land on Wednesday, it is expected to bring heavy rainfall to inland parts of the Kimberley through Wednesday and into Thursday morning.
    HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
    Kimberley
    HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is possible about the western parts of the warning area from Wednesday morning and is forecast to extend inland towards Mount Barnett throughout Wednesday and into Thursday morning. 6-hourly rainfall totals between 40 and 60mm are likely, with isolated falls of 110 mm possible.

     People in the north of WA may experience this type of weather each year at this time; however, winds and rain may cause damage to property and make road conditions hazardous.
     Locations which may be affected include Mount Barnett.
    
    The Department of Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
     * If outside find safe shelter away from trees, power lines, storm water drains and streams.
     * Close your curtains and blinds, and stay inside away from windows.
     * Unplug electrical appliances and do not use land line telephones if there is lightning.
     * If boating, swimming or surfing leave the water.
     * Be alert and watch for hazards on the road such as fallen power lines and loose debris.
     * Keep away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
     * Be careful of fallen trees, damaged buildings and debris.
     * Be careful of fallen power lines. They are dangerous and should always be treated as live.
     * Assess your home, car and property for damage.
     * If damage has occurred take photos and contact your insurance company to organise permanent repairs.
     * If your home or property has significant damage, like a badly damaged roof or flooding, call the SES on 132 500.
    
    The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 11:00 pm AWST Tuesday.
