for Heavy Rainfall
for parts of Sydney and Wollondilly/Wingecarribee areas.

HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Sydney and Wollondilly/Wingecarribee
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 1:30 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected near Wedderburn and Regents Park. These thunderstorms are slow moving. They are forecast to affect Auburn, Menangle and Guildford by 2:00 pm.
46 mm of rainfall was recorded at Bankstown Airport in the 1 hour to 1:15 pm.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
* Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors as well.

A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for parts of the Metropolitan and Illawarra districts.
