HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Sydney
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 6:50 pm, a severe thunderstorm likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding was detected near Bankstown and Holsworthy. This thunderstorm is moving towards the east. It is forecast to affect Sutherland, Engadine and Hurstville by 7:05 pm and Sydney Airport, the Royal National Park and Ashfield by 7:20 pm.
39 mm was recorded at Bowral in the 1 hour to 4:15 pm.
Cancellation for the following areas:
Wollondilly/Wingecarribee,Blue Mountains/Hawkesbury,Wollongong
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
* Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors as well.
