for Damaging Winds
for Illawarra and parts of Mid North Coast, Hunter, Metropolitan, Central Tablelands, Northern Tablelands and Southern Tablelands Forecast Districts.

Damaging winds about the Great Dividing Range as well as central parts of the coast.
Weather Situation
A strong cold front continues its progression through the state resulting in damaging winds about the ranges, extending northwards along the Great Dividing Range into this evening.
DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas:
Mid North Coast, Hunter, Metropolitan, Illawarra, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands and Northern Tablelands
For CENTRAL GREAT DIVIDING RANGE AND SOUTHEASTERN AREAS including SYDNEY HARBOUR, BLUE MOUNTAINS, ILLAWARRA AND WOLLONGONG: Strong to DAMAGING WINDS averaging 55 to 65 km/h with peak gusts around 90 km/h are possible, easing below warning thresholds during the evening.
For NORTHEASTERN AREAS: Strong to DAMAGING WINDS averaging 55 to 65 km/h with peak gusts around 90 km/h are likely, easing into the early hours of Thursday morning.
Locations which may be affected include Wollongong, Nowra, Katoomba, Bowral, Drake and Ebor.
Severe weather is no longer occurring in the South Coast district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.

96 km/h wind gust recorded at Kurnell at 9:10 am.
93 km/h wind gust recorded at Kiama at 8:23 am.
93 km/h wind gust recorded at Sydney Airport at 8:52 am.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
* Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.
* Trees that have been damaged by fire are likely to be more unstable and more likely to fall.
* Report fallen power lines to either Ausgrid (131 388), Endeavour Energy (131 003), Essential Energy (132 080) or Evoenergy (131 093) as shown on your power bill.
* Stay vigilant and monitor conditions. Note that the landscape may have changed following bushfires.
* For emergency help in floods and storms, ring your local SES Unit on 132 500.
The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 11:00 pm AEST Wednesday.
