for Southern Ranges fire weather district

Weather Situation
Hot and dry conditions with moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds will drive extreme fire dangers during Friday afternoon over the Southern Ranges. Winds are expected to shift milder northeast to southeasterly during the evening. Isolated thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon and bring a dry lightning risk.

Today: Mostly sunny morning. The chance of fog about the Blue Mountains in the early morning. Slight chance of a shower in the afternoon and early evening. The chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and early evening, possibly severe with damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain which may lead to flash flooding about the Blue Mountains. Winds NE/SE 15 to 20 km/h tending W/NW 15 to 25 km/h in the morning then tending NW/NE 15 to 20 km/h in the evening. Overnight temperatures falling to between 15 and 20 with daytime temperatures reaching 30 to 37.
