for Maitland/Cessnock, Greater Newcastle and Gosford/Wyong areas.

Heavy rainfall has eased across the Hunter.

Warning for the following areas:
New South Wales Anonymous Locale 1
Severe thunderstorms in the warning area have eased. However, the redevelopment of severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall remains possible. The situation is being closely monitored and further detailed warnings will be issued as necessary.
74.2 mm OF RAINFALL WAS RECORDED AT WEBBS CREEK (WISEMANS FERRY) IN THE 2 HOURS TO 8:37 AM.
72.0 mm of rainfall was recorded at Maroota (Tobruk) in the 3 hours to 8:32 am.
Cancellation for the following areas:
Maitland/Cessnock,Hunter,Newcastle

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* Beware of fallen trees or debris on the road.
