Severe thunderstorms are continuing over central NSW.
Weather Situation
Thunderstorms are forming on a surface trough in a moist unstable airmass in inland NSW, assisted by an upper trough moving across the state.
HEAVY RAINFALL, LARGE HAILSTONES and DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas:
Hunter, Illawarra, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, Central West Slopes and Plains, Lower Western and Upper Western
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding, large hailstones and damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Orange, Mudgee, Bathurst, Katoomba, Dubbo and Parkes.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Metropolitan, South Coast, North West Slopes and Plains, South West Slopes and Riverina districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.
47.6MM OF RAINFALL WAS OBSERVED AT MURRUMBURRAH (HISTORICAL SOCIETY) IN THE 30 MINUTES TO 6:27AM.
32.4 MM OF RAINFALL WAS RECORDED AT NARRAWA IN THE 30 MINUTES TO 7:41AM.
28 MM OF RAINFALL WAS RECORDED AT GOULBURN (POMEROY) IN THE 30 MINUTES TO 5:15AM.
45 MM OF RAINFALL WAS RECORDED AT MOUNT PALMER IN THE 30 MINUTES TO 1:25AM.
21.2 mm of rainfall was recorded at Dalton (Hillview) in the 30 minutes to 4:11am.
27.4 mm of rainfall was recorded at Junee Treatment Works in the 30 minutes to 2:13am.
27.6 mm of rainfall was recorded at Argalong (Sandy Creek) in the 30 minutes to 1:20am.
Cancellation for the following areas:
North West Slopes and Plains,South Coast,South West Slopes,Riverina,Sydney Metropolitan
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
* Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.
* Report fallen power lines to either Ausgrid (131 388), Endeavour Energy (131 003), Essential Energy (132 080) or Evoenergy (131 093) as shown on your power bill.
* Trees that have been damaged by fire are likely to be more unstable and more likely to fall.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
* Be aware that run-off from rainfall in fire affected areas may behave differently and be more rapid. It may also contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks.
* After bushfires, heavy rain and the loss of foliage can make the ground soft and heavy, leading to a greater chance of landslides.
* Unplug computers and appliances.
* Avoid using the phone during the storm.
* Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors as well.
* Stay vigilant and monitor conditions. Note that the landscape may have changed following bushfires.

HEAVY RAINFALL, LARGE HAILSTONES and DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas:
Wollondilly/Wingecarribee
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 9:40 am, severe thunderstorms likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding, large hailstones and damaging winds were detected near the area west of Berrima, the area south of the Wombeyan Caves Road and the Wombeyan Caves Road. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east. They are forecast to affect the western parts of the Wollondilly Shire, Yerranderie and Sutton Forest by 10:10 am and Oakdale, Moss Vale and the Nattai Tablelands by 10:40 am.

Periods of heavy rain possible about coastal districts during Monday and Tuesday.
Weather Situation
A developing upper low on Monday combined with a very moist onshore flow will generate conditions favourable for heavy rainfall along the southern coastal districts during Monday and Tuesday.
HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Illawarra, South Coast and Southern Tablelands
Periods of HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING are possible over parts of southern and central coastal districts from Monday afternoon through the overnight period into Tuesday morning, then becoming less likely later on Tuesday. Scattered six-hourly rainfall totals between 40 and 80 mm are possible, with isolated totals of 120 mm possible.
Isolated HEAVY RAINFALL is also possible with thunderstorms for the remainder of Sunday and Monday morning, and will be covered by separate Severe Thunderstorm Warnings as required.
Locations which may be affected include Wollongong, Nowra, Bowral, Batemans Bay, Eden and Moruya Heads.
Severe weather is no longer occurring in the Metropolitan district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.

* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
* Be aware that run-off from rainfall in fire affected areas may behave differently and be more rapid. It may also contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks.
* After bushfires, heavy rain and the loss of foliage can make the ground soft and heavy, leading to a greater chance of landslides.
* Stay vigilant and monitor conditions. Note that the landscape may have changed following bushfires.
* For emergency help in floods and storms, ring your local SES Unit on 132 500.
