Minor Flood Warning For The Barwon And Darling Rivers

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT BREWARRINA AND BOURKE, AND LIKELY AT LOUTH AND TILPA FROM LATE THIS WEEK
The main flood peak along the Barwon River is approaching Brewarrina where minor flooding is occurring. Upstream of Brewarrina, the river level at Walgett felll below the minor flood level Saturday evening.
Floodwaters from the Barwon River combined with floodwaters from the Culgoa/Bokhara Rivers have caused minor flooding along the Darling River at Bourke ahead of the arrival of the main flood peak from the Barwon River.
Further downstream along the Darling River, minor flooding is likely at Louth from late this week as the flows from Bourke and the Warrego River continue to arrive. Minor flooding is also likely at Tilpa towards the end of April.

Barwon River downstream of Collarenebri to Walgett:
Minor flooding is no longer occurring along the Barwon River downstream of Collarenebri to Walgett.
The Barwon River at Walgett fell below the minor flood level (10.50 m) on Saturday and is currently at 9.98 metres and falling.
The Barwon River at Walgett is likely to remain below the minor flood level.

Barwon River downstream of Walgett to Brewarrina:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Barwon River downstream of Walgett to Brewarrina.
The Barwon River at Brewarrina is currently at 6.47 metres and rising, above the minor flood level (6.40 m).
The Barwon River at Brewarrina may peak near 6.70 metres around mid week (22-24 April) with minor flooding.

Barwon and Darling Rivers downstream of Brewarrina to Bourke:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Barwon and Darling Rivers downstream of Brewarrina to Bourke.
The Darling River at Bourke is currently at 9.52 metres and rising, above the minor flood level (9.50 m).
The Darling River at Bourke may reach 10.30 metres around 26 to 30 April, with minor flooding. Higher levels are possible as upstream floodwaters arrive. Peak predictions will be provided once upstream peaks have been observed.

Darling River downstream of Bourke to Tilpa:
Minor flooding is likely along the Darling River downstream of Bourke to Tilpa.
The Darling River at Louth is currently at 8.07 metres and rising, below the minor flood level (8.60 m).
The Darling River at Louth is likely to reach the minor flood level around 24 -28 April. Higher levels are possible as upstream flows arrive. Peak predictions will be provided once upstream peaks have been observed.

The Darling River at Tilpa is currently at 7.48 metres and rising, below the minor flood level (9.00 m).
The Darling River at Tilpa is likely to reach the minor flood level towards the end of April. Higher levels are possible as upstream flows arrive. Peak predictions will be provided once upstream peaks have been observed.
