Heavy rainfall has redeveloped about parts of Sydney and the Blue Mountains
HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Blue Mountains/Hawkesbury, Sydney and Wollondilly/Wingecarribee
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 2:10 am, a severe thunderstorm likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding was detected near Liverpool and Horsley Park. This thunderstorm is slow moving. It is forecast to affect Sutherland, Bankstown and Blaxland, Springwood, Fairfield and Hazelbrook.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
* Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors as well.

A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Metropolitan and parts of the Northern Rivers, Illawarra, Central Tablelands and Northern Tablelands districts.
