Severe thunderstorms in the warning area have temporarily eased. However, the redevelopment of severe thunderstorms remains possible. The situation is being closely monitored and further detailed warnings will be issued as necessary.

Blue Mountains/Hawkesbury,Sydney

* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* Beware of fallen trees or debris on the road.

for Heavy Rainfall

for parts of Hunter, Metropolitan and Central Tablelands Forecast Districts.

Heavy rainfall continues through eastern parts of the state.

Weather Situation
A trough of low-pressure combines with exceptionally high atmospheric moisture to produce slow moving thunderstorms with heavy rainfall over central eastern parts of New South Wales.
HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Hunter, Metropolitan and Central Tablelands
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours.
57.0 mm was recorded at Ginninderra in the 30 minutes to 7:31 pm.
40.0 mm was recorded at Wingen in the 1 hour to 6:21 pm.
42.0 mm was recorded at Dungog in the 30 minutes to 5:33 pm.
Cancellation for the following areas:
Illawarra

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
* Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors as well.
