Major Flood Warning For The Daly River

PROLONGED MAJOR FLOODING EASING AT DALY RIVER POLICE STATION
Prolonged major flooding is continuing along the Daly River at Daly River Police Station. The river level is easing slowly and is likely to fall below the major flood level during late Sunday morning based on the current rate of fall. The river level is likely to continue falling during next week, however the arrival of floodwater from the Katherine River is likely to prolong the recession and may cause small renewed river level rises.
Isolated showers and storms are possible across parts of the Daly River catchment over the next few days but are not expected to worsen the current flood situation.

Daly River above Douglas River:
River levels are elevated along the Daly River downstream of Dorisvale Crossing, with river level rises likely upstream as floodwater from the Katherine River arrives.
Lower Daly River:
Prolonged major flooding is easing slowly along the Daly River.
The Daly River at Daly River Police Station is currently at 14.15 m and falling slowly, with major flooding.
The Daly River at Daly River Police Station is likely to fall below the major flood level (14.00 m) during late Sunday morning and is likely to continue falling slowly next week, although small renewed rises remain possible with the arrival of floodwater from the Katherine River. Recession forecasts for the moderate and minor flood levels will be included within future warning updates.

Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.

Final Flood Warning For The Katherine River

FLOODING NO LONGER OCCURRING AT NITMILUK CENTRE
The river level along the Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre fell below the minor flood level Friday afternoon.
The river levels across the Katherine River catchment will continue easing into the weekend and early part of next week.

Katherine River Gorge Road:
No further flooding is expected along the Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre.
The Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre is currently at 2.28 m and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre will continue to fall over in the next few days and will remain below the minor flood level (3.00 m).

Katherine Town:
No further flooding is expected along the Katherine River at Katherine Town. Elevated river levels are easing.
The Katherine River at Katherine Bridge is currently at 11.75 m and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Katherine River at Katherine Bridge will continue to fall over the next few days and will remain below the minor flood level (16.00 m).
