Major Flood Warning For The Cape River And Minor Flood Warning For The Suttor And Burdekin Rivers

RENEWED MAJOR FLOODING LIKELY AT TAEMAS FROM OVERNIGHT TUESDAY
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT ST ANNS, BURDEKIN FALLS DAM, DALBEG, CLARE AND INKERMAN BRIDGE (BURDEKIN BRIDGE)
Moderate to heavy rainfall since last week has caused river level rises and flooding along the Cape, Belyando, Suttor and Burdekin Rivers.
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Cape River at Taemas following a major flood peak on Sunday afternoon. Renewed major flooding is likely at Taemas from overnight Tuesday.
Along the Suttor River at St Anns, river levels are approaching a minor flood peak. As these flows continue to move downstream, minor flooding is occurring at Burdekin Falls Dam, Dalbeg, Clare, and Inkerman Bridge (Burdekin Bridge). Forecasts will be updated as upstream peaks are observed.
Further showers and thunderstorms are forecast across the catchment over the next few days, which may cause additional river level rises across the Burdekin River catchment. The situation is being monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.
Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Suttor River at St Anns.
The Suttor River at St Anns is currently at 5.74 m and near its peak, with minor flooding.
The Suttor River at St Anns is likely to remain above the minor flood level (4.00 m) during the remainder of Tuesday and Wednesday.
Cape River to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Renewed major flooding is likely along the Cape River to Burdekin Falls Dam at Taemas.
The Cape River at Taemas is currently at 7.46 m and falling, with moderate flooding.
Renewed rises are likely along the Cape River at Taemas. The river level is likely to exceed the major flood level (8.00 m) from overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
Burdekin River to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Burdekin river at Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Burdekin Dam is currently at 3.84 m and rising slowly, with minor flooding.
The Burdekin Dam may peak near 3.90 m during Tuesday afternoon, with minor flooding. The water level may remain above the minor flood level (3.00 m) for the remainder of Tuesday and Wednesday.
Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Burdekin River at Dalbeg is currently at 11.48 m and rising slowly, with minor flooding.
The Burdekin River at Dalbeg may peak near 12.00 m Tuesday evening, with minor flooding. The river is likely to remain above the minor flood level (10.00 m) during Wednesday.
The Burdekin River at Clare is currently at 9.80 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Burdekin River at Clare may peak near 10.45 m early Wednesday morning, with minor flooding. The river may remain above the minor flood level (9.00 m) during Wednesday.
The Burdekin River at Inkerman Bridge (Burdekin Bridge) is currently at 7.30 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Burdekin River at Inkerman Bridge may peak near 8.00 m during Wednesday, with minor flooding.
