for Damaging Winds, Large Hailstones And Heavy Rainfall
for parts of Western Downs, South Burnett and Toowoomba Council Areas.

DAMAGING WINDS, LARGE HAILSTONES and HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Western Downs, South Burnett and Toowoomba
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 3:50 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected near Jandowae and the area northwest of Oakey. These thunderstorms are moving towards the north. They are forecast to affect the area south of Dalby, the area southeast of Dalby and Bowenville by 4:20 pm and Dalby, the area east of Dalby and the ranges north of Jandowae by 4:50 pm.
Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for parts of the Wide Bay and Burnett and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts.

The next warning is due to be issued by 4:55 pm.
