EX-TROPICAL CYCLONE KOJI HAS MOVED INLAND, WITH HEAVY TO LOCALLY INTENSE RAINFALL CONTINUING.

Weather Situation
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Koji has moved inland west of Proserpine, with moist onshore flow and convergence to its south. It will begin to take a west-northwesterly track over the northern Central Highlands and Coalfields district tonight.
HEAVY, LOCALLY INTENSE RAINFALL for the following areas:
Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Central Coast and Whitsundays, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West and Capricornia
HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is likely along coastal and adjacent inland parts between Ayr and St Lawrence today, possibly extending south to Rockhampton into Monday. Six-hourly rainfall totals between 80 to 150 mm are likely. 24-hourly totals between 150 to 250 mm are likely, with isolated falls in excess of 340 mm possible. Further inland, HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is forecast to develop from this evening and continue into Monday, with six-hourly rainfall totals between 70 and 120 mm likely.
Locally INTENSE RAINFALL which may lead to DANGEROUS AND LIFE-THREATENING FLASH FLOODING remains possible about coastal and elevated inland areas between Bowen and St Lawrence today, with isolated six-hourly falls in excess of 250 mm possible. Locally INTENSE RAINFALL may develop over parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields district later this evening and into Monday, with six-hourly falls in excess of 150 mm possible.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning will be issued if intense rainfall is detected.
Underlying wet soils will make trees easier to fall about the northeast tropical coast. Landslips could also occur about steep and hilly terrain.

The risk of heavy rainfall across the Ross and Bohle River catchments has reduced as Ex-Tropical Cyclone Koji has moved southward towards the central Queensland coast. However, forecast showers and thunderstorms remain possible which may lead to minor flooding along the Bohle River at Mt Bohle from Sunday afternoon and along the Ross River at Aplin Weir from overnight Sunday. Areas of flooding are possible across Black River and Bluewater Creek during the remainder of Sunday into Monday.
This situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.

Ross River:
Minor flooding is possible along the Ross River from Sunday night.
The Ross River at Aplin Weir is currently at 0.26 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Ross River at Aplin Weir may exceed the minor flood level (1.10 m) overnight Sunday into Monday.

Bohle River:
Minor flooding is possible along the Bohle River Sunday afternoon.
The Bohle River at Mt Bohle is currently at 2.18 m and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Bohle River at Mt Bohle may exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) from Sunday afternoon.

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT GLENEAGLE AND ABERGOWRIE BRIDGE FROM SUNDAY EVENING
FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED ALONG THE LOWER HERBERT RIVER
Moderate rainfall across the upper parts of the Herbert River catchment over the last few days has resulted in river level rises. Minor flooding is possible at Gleneagle and Abergowrie Bridge from Sunday evening.
The risk of heavy rainfall has eased for the Herbert River catchment as Tropical Cyclone Koji has moved southward toward the central Queensland coast. Flooding is no longer expected along the Lower Herbert River at Ingham, Gairloch and Halifax.
Forecast showers and thunderstorms over the next few days are not expected to significantly affect river levels.

Herbert River to Nash's Crossing:
Minor flooding is possible along the Herbert River at Gleneagle.
No observations are currently available for the Herbert River at Gleneagle Homestead. Based on the nearby automatic gauge, river levels are estimated to be below the minor flood level (4.50 m) and steady.
The Herbert River at Gleneagle Homestead may reach around the minor flood level (4.50 m) Sunday evening. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

Heavy to locally intense rainfall is forecast to develop across parts of the Burdekin River catchment from overnight Friday. The timing and the location of the heaviest falls will depend on the development and track of the tropical low. This rainfall is likely to result in rapid river and creek level rises. Minor flooding is possible for Clare and Inkerman Bridge (Burdekin Bridge) from overnight Saturday, and possible at Dalbeg and Sellheim (Macrossan Bridge) from Sunday morning. Minor flooding is possible at Burdekin Dam from Monday morning.
This situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.
