Moderate Flood Warning For The Bohle River And Minor Flood Warning For The Ross River

MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT MT BOHLE FROM EARLY SATURDAY MORNING
MINOR FLOODING LIKELY AT APLIN WEIR OVERNIGHT FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY
Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed across Ross and Bohle River catchments since Friday evening, which has caused river and creek level rises across the catchments. Moderate flooding possible at Mt Bohle from early Saturday morning.
Renewed rises to the minor flood level are likely at Aplin Weir overnight Friday into Saturday with forecast rainfall.
Further rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Friday and into the weekend, which may cause further river and creek level rises. The situation is being closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required.
Ross River:
Minor flooding is likely along the Ross River.
The Ross River at Aplin Weir is currently at 1.01 metres and rising, below the minor flood level (1.10 m).
Renewed rises to the minor flood level are likely at Aplin Weir overnight Friday into Saturday with forecast rainfall.
Bohle River:
Moderate flooding may occur along the Bohle River.
There are no current observations for the Bohle River at Mt Bohle, however, based on an upstream gauge, the river is estimated to be below the minor flood level (4.00 m) and rising.
The Bohle River at Mt Bohle is likely to exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) late Friday evening. The river level may reach the moderate flood level (5.50 m) early Saturday morning.

Weather Situation
A small, slow moving storm has developed inland of Townsville and is now also affecting areas along the coast.
Warnings for Friday 04 April
HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Herbert and Lower Burdekin
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Townsville.
Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
The next warning is due to be issued by 2:35 am.

MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT GLENEAGLE FRIDAY EVENING
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT ABERGOWRIE BRIDGE
Recent moderate to heavy rainfall has caused creek and river level rises and areas of flooding across the Herbert River catchment.
Further showers and storms are forecast for the next few days which may cause renewed river level rises.
The situation is being closely monitored, and this flood warning will be updated as required.
Herbert River to Nash's Crossing:
Moderate flooding is possible along the Herbert River upstream of Nash's.
There are no current river level observations available for the manual gauge at Gleneagle, however, based on the nearby automatic gauge, the river level is estimated to be above the minor flood level (4.50 m) and rising.
The Herbert River at Gleneagle is likely to remain above the minor flood level (4.50 m) during Friday. The river level may reach the moderate flood level (8.50 m) from Friday evening as upstream floodwaters continue to arrive and with forecast rainfall.
Herbert River downstream of Nash's Crossing:
Renewed minor flooding is occurring along the Herbert River downstream of Nash's crossing around Abergowrie Bridge.
The Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge is currently at the minor flood level 6.00 metres and steady.
The Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge is likely to remain around the minor flood level (6.00 m) during Friday and into Saturday.

MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT ST ANNS DURING STATURDAY
MINOR FLOODING EASING AT BURDEKIN FALLS DAM, DALBEG, CLARE AND INKERMAN BRIDGE, FURTHER SMALL RISES POSSIBLE AS UPSTREAM FLOODWATERS ARRIVE
Moderate to heavy rainfall since early last week has caused river and creek level rises across the Burdekin River catchment. Further forecast rainfall may lead to continued and renewed rises across the region over the next few days.
The situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.
Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Moderate flooding may occur along the Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Suttor River at St Anns is currently at 5.10 metres and steady, above the minor flood level (4.00 metres).
The Suttor River at St Anns may reach the moderate flood level (6.50 m) during Saturday as upstream floodwaters arrive.
Cape River to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Cape River to Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Cape River at Taemas peaked at 7.84 metres around 01:00 am Friday 04 April and is currently at 7.81 metres and falling, above the moderate flood level (7.00 m).
The Cape River at Taemas is expected to remain above the moderate flood level (7.00 m) for the remainder of Friday and into Saturday.
Burdekin River to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Burdekin River to Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Burdekin River at Sellheim is currently at 7.35 metres and rising, below the minor flood level (12.00 m).
Further small renewed river level rises are possible over the next few days with forecast rainfall, however the river level is likely to remain below the minor flood level (12.00 m).
The Burdekin River at Burdekin Dam peaked at 3.73 metres around 11:00 am Wednesday 02 April and is currently at 3.13 metres and steady, above the minor flood level (3.00 m).
The Burdekin River at Burdekin Dam is likely to remain above the minor flood level (3.00 m) for the remainder of Friday and into Saturday. Renewed rises are possible as upstream floodwaters arrive.
Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Burdekin River at Dalbeg peaked at 11.47 metres around 09:00 pm Wednesday 02 April and is currently at 10.38 metres and falling, above the minor flood level (10.00 m).
The Burdekin River at Dalbeg is likely to remain above the minor flood level (10.00 m) for the remainder of Friday. Renewed rises are possible as upstream floodwaters arrive.
The Burdekin River at Clare peaked at 10.15 metres around 09:00 pm Wednesday 02 April and is currently at 9.50 metres and steady, above the minor flood level (9.00 m).
The Burdekin River at Clare is likely to remain above the minor flood level (9.00 m) for the remainder of Friday and into Saturday. Renewed rises are possible as upstream floodwaters arrive.
The Burdekin River at Inkerman Bridge peaked at 7.60 metres around 09:00 pm Wednesday 02 April and is currently at 7.20 metres and steady, above the minor flood level (7.00 m).
The Burdekin River at Inkerman Bridge is likely to remain above the minor flood level (7.00 m) for the remainder of Friday and into Saturday. Renewed rises are possible as upstream floodwaters arrive.
