MINOR FLOODING EASING AT YAAMBA
FLOODING EASED AT ROCKHAMPTON
River levels at Rockhampton fell below the minor flood level overnight Thursday into Friday and are expected to continue slowly falling over the next few days. Further upstream along the Fitzroy River at Yaamba, minor flooding continues to ease.
Showers and thunderstorms remain possible over the next few days, which may cause small renewed river level rises in parts of the catchment, but are not expected to significantly impact current river levels along the Fitzroy River.
Fitzroy River:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Fitzroy River.
No observations are currently available for the Fitzroy River at Yaamba. Based on the downstream gauge at South Yaamba, the river level is expected to be above the minor flood level and falling.
The Fitzroy River at Yaamba is expected to continue easing for the remainder of Saturday into Sunday, but remain above the minor flood level (9.00 m).
At 2:58 pm Friday, the Fitzroy River at Rockhampton was 6.55 m and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Fitzroy River at Rockhampton is expected to remain below the minor flood level (7.00 m).
