Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Southeast Queensland 
for Large Hailstones, Damaging Winds And Heavy Rainfall
for parts of Ipswich, Somerset, Lockyer Valley, Sunshine Coast and Noosa Council Areas.

LARGE HAILSTONES, DAMAGING WINDS and HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Ipswich, Somerset, Lockyer Valley, Sunshine Coast and Noosa
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 1:25 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce large hailstones, damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected near the area south of Noosa Heads, the area northwest of Noosa Heads, the area north of Noosa Heads, Helidon, Moore and Coolum Beach. These thunderstorms are moving towards the northeast to southeast. They are forecast to affect Noosa Heads, Gatton, the area southwest of Noosa Heads, Grantham, Linville and Eumundi by 1:55 pm and Laidley, waters off Noosa Heads, Mulgowie, Grandchester, Hatton Vale and Tewantin by 2:25 pm.
Emergency services advise people to:
 * Park your car undercover away from trees.
 * Close doors and windows.
 * Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
 * Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
 * Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
 * Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
 * Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
 * Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for parts of the Wide Bay and Burnett, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast districts.
The next warning is due to be issued by 2:35 pm.
