Minor Flood Warning For The Pioneer River

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT MACKAY SUNDAY MORNING WITH THE HIGH TIDE
Moderate rainfall has been observed across the Pioneer River catchment during the last few days which has resulted in river level rises across the catchment. Minor flooding may occur at Mackay Sunday morning with the high tide. Currently, Mirani is estimated to be below the minor flood level, however renewed rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
Further rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast over the next few days. The situation is being closely monitored and warnings will be updated as required.
Pioneer River:
Minor flooding may occur along the Pioneer River at Mackay. Minor flooding is occurring at Mirani Township and Walkerston.
River level observations are not available for the Pioneer River at Mirani, however the river level is estimated to be below the minor flood level (6.00 m) and falling.
The Pioneer River at Mirani is likely to remain below the minor flood level for the remainder of Saturday. River level rises are possible from Sunday with forecast rainfall.
The Pioneer River at Mackay is currently at 2.60 metres and falling with the tide, below the minor flood level.
The Pioneer River at Mackay may reach the minor flood level (6.30 m) Sunday morning with the high tide.

RENEWED MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT BOWEN PUMP STATION FROM LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON
Following a minor flood peak along the Don River at Bowen Pump Station Friday morning, river levels have fallen below the minor flood level. Rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast for the remainder of the weekend, which may cause rapid renewed river and creek level rises across the Don catchment, where renewed minor flooding is possible at Bowen Pump Station.
This situation is being closely monitored and warnings will be updated as required.
Don River:
Minor flooding may occur along the Don River.
The Don River at Bowen Pump Station is currently at 1.90 metres and steady, below the minor flood level (2.50 m).
The Don River at Bowen Pump Station may reach the minor flood level (2.50 m) from late Saturday afternoon, with forecast rainfall. Further rises are possible.
Proserpine River:
River and creek levels across the Proserpine River catchment are generally easing. Further renewed rises are possible over the next few days, with forecast rainfall.

MAJOR FLOODING LIKELY AT TAEMAS OVERNIGHT SATURDAY
MAJOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT INKERMAN BRIDGE FROM LATE SUNDAY
Recent heavy rainfall has resulted in river level rises along the Burdekin, Cape, Belyando and Suttor Rivers.
River level rises are occurring along the Cape River, where major flooding is nearing a peak at Taemas during Saturday. River level rises are also occurring along the Belyando and Suttor Rivers, where moderate flooding is occurring at St Anns during Saturday.
River level rises are occurring along the Burdekin River where major flooding is occurring at Sellheim, moderate flooding is occurring at Dalbeg, Clare and Inkerman Bridge. Major flooding is possible at Inkerman Bridge late Sunday.
Further rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast over the next few days. A Severe Weather Warning is current for parts of North Tropical Coast and Tablelands and Herbert and Lower Burdekin Forecast Districts.
The flood situation is being closely monitored and forecasts and warnings will be updated as required.
Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Suttor River at St Anns is currently at 6.50 metres and steady, with moderate flooding.
The river level is likely to remain above the moderate flood level for the remainder of Saturday. Further rises are possible with the arrival of upstream flow and forecast rainfall.
Cape River to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Major flooding is likely along the Cape River to Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Cape River at Taemas is currently at 7.71 metres and rising, with moderate flooding.
The Cape River at Taemas is likely to reach the major flood level (8.00 m) overnight Saturday into Sunday. The river level may remain around the major flood level (8.00 m) during Sunday.
Burdekin River to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Major flooding is occurring along the Burdekin River to Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Burdekin River at Sellheim is currently at 17.15 metres and steady, around a major peak.
The Burdekin River at Sellheim is likely to remain around current levels during Saturday afternoon, before commencing to ease.
The Burdekin River at Burdekin Dam is currently at 5.58 metres and rising, with moderate flooding.
The Burdekin River at Burdekin Dam may reach around 6.00 metres early Sunday. The river level is likely to remain above the moderate flood level (5.50 m) across the weekend.
Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam:
Major flooding may occur along the Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Burdekin River at Dalbeg is currently at 17.38 metres and rising, above the moderate flood level (15.00 m).
The Burdekin River at Dalbeg may reach around 18.00 metres overnight Saturday into Sunday. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
The Burdekin River at Clare is currently at 14.10 metres and rising, above the moderate flood level (13.00 m).
The Burdekin River at Clare may reach around 15.00 metres Saturday evening. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
The Burdekin River at Inkerman Bridge (manual gauge) was at 10.60 metres at 10:00am and rising, above the moderate flood level (10.00 m).
The Burdekin River at Inkerman Bridge is expected to remain above the moderate flood level (10.00 m) during Saturday. The river level may reach the major flood level (12.00 m) late Sunday. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.

MODERATE FLOOD PEAK LIKELY AT YATTON FROM LATE SATURDAY
Moderate flooding from recent rainfall is continuing along the Connors and Isaac Rivers. Rainfall totals of 20-40 mm have been recorded in the upper catchment since 9:00 am Friday.
No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days in the Connors and Isaac River catchments.
Connors and Isaac Rivers:
Moderate flooding is continuing along the Connors and Isaac Rivers. Moderate flooding along the Connors River at Pink Lagoon is peaking.
The Isaac River at Yatton is currently at 11.91 metres and rising, above the moderate flood level (9.50 m).
The Isaac River at Yatton is likely to peak near 13.60 metres late Saturday and into Sunday, with moderate flooding. The river level is expected to remain above the moderate flood level (9.50 m) into next week.
