MODERATE FLOODING LIKELY AT TAEMAS WEDNESDAY MORNING
Moderate to heavy rainfall during last few days has caused river level rises along the Cape River, and minor flooding is occurring at Taemas, where moderate flooding is likely from Wednesday morning.
Further showers and thunderstorms are forecast across the catchment throughout the week, which may cause additional river level rises. The situation is being monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.

Cape River to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Moderate flooding is likely at Taemas.
The Cape River at Taemas is currently at 6.41 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Cape River at Taemas is likely to reach around the moderate flood level (7.00 m) Wednesday morning. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.

LOCALISED FLOODING OCCURRING ACROSS THE PIONEER RIVER CATCHMENT
Moderate to heavy rainfall totals have been observed overnight Monday into Tuesday, which has resulted in river and creek level rises in the upper part of the Pioneer River catchment.
Further moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast for the next few days, this rainfall may result in further rises.

Pioneer River:
Minor flooding is occurring along Cattle Creek at Finch Hatton and Gargett, and along the Pioneer River at Mirani Township.

Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT TAROOM
MINOR FLOODING EXPECTED TO BE OCCURRING AT BARALABA
Recent moderate to heavy rainfall across the Dawson River catchment has caused rises in river and creek levels. Along the Upper Dawson River, the flood peak is now approaching Glebe Weir. Further downstream at Baralaba, minor flooding is expected to be occurring.
Rainfall has eased, however, the situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.

Dawson River to Theodore:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Dawson River to Theodore.
The Dawson River at Taroom is currently at 4.67 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Dawson River at Taroom is likely to remain above the minor flood level (4.50 m) during Tuesday into Wednesday. Renewed rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.

Dawson River downstream of Theodore:
Minor flooding is expected to be occurring along the Dawson River downstream of Theodore.
No current observations are available for the Dawson River at Baralaba. Based on the nearby automatic gauge, the river level is estimated to be above the minor flood level (4.00 m) and rising.
The Dawson River at Baralaba may remain above the minor flood level (4.00 m) during Tuesday into Wednesday. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.

Further moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast for the next few days, this rainfall may result in further rises.

Don River:
Minor flooding may occur along the Don River.
The Don River at Bowen Pump Station is currently at 1.45 m and steady, below the minor flood level (2.5 m).
The Don River at Bowen Pump Station may reach the minor flood level (2.50 m) from Tuesday afternoon. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
