Major Flood Warning For The Cape River And Minor Flood Warning For The Suttor And Burdekin Rivers

MAJOR FLOODING TO CONTINUE AT TAEMAS INTO MONDAY
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT ST ANNS AND LIKELY AT BURDEKIN FALLS DAM, DALBEG, CLARE AND INKERMAN BRIDGE (BURDEKIN BRIDGE) FROM LATE SUNDAY MORNING ONWARDS
Moderate to heavy rainfall during the last few days has caused river level rises along the Cape, Belyando, Suttor and Burdekin Rivers.
Major flooding is expected to continue along the Cape River at Taemas for the remainder of Sunday and Monday, while a minor flood peak is likely from around Monday at St Anns along the Suttor River. As these flows move downstream, minor flooding is likely at Burdekin Falls Dam from late Sunday morning, and is possible at Dalbeg, Clare and Inkerman Bridge (Burdekin Bridge) from Sunday afternoon onwards. Forecasts will be refined as upstream peaks are observed.
Further showers and thunderstorms are forecast across the catchment over the next few days, which may cause additional river level rises across the Burdekin River catchment. The situation is being monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.

Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding is occurring at St Anns.
The Suttor River at St Anns is currently at 4.74 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Suttor River at St Anns may remain above the minor flood level (4.00 m) for the next few days, with a minor peak likely from Monday.

Cape River to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Major flooding is occurring at Taemas.
The Cape River at Taemas is currently at 9.66 m and steady, with major flooding.
The Cape River at Taemas is expected to continue rising and remain above the major flood level (8.00 m) for the remainder of Sunday and Monday.

Burdekin River to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding is likely at Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Burdekin Dam is currently at 2.94 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Burdekin Dam is likely to exceed the minor flood level (3.00 m) late Sunday morning. The water level may reach around 3.50 m overnight Sunday into Monday, with minor flooding. Further rises are likely as upstream flows arrive.

Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding is likely downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Burdekin River at Dalbeg is currently at 9.58 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Burdekin River at Dalbeg may exceed the minor flood level (10.00 m) Sunday afternoon. The river may reach around 12.00 m overnight Sunday into Monday, with minor flooding. Further rises are possible.

The Burdekin River at Clare is currently at 8.50 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Burdekin River at Clare may exceed the minor flood level (9.00 m) Sunday afternoon. The river may reach around 9.50 m during Monday, with minor flooding. Further rises are possible.

The Burdekin River at Inkerman Bridge (Burdekin Bridge) is currently at 6.30 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Burdekin River at Inkerman Bridge (Burdekin Bridge) may exceed the minor flood level (7.00 m) Sunday afternoon. The river may reach around 7.50 m during Monday, with minor flooding. Further rises are possible.

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT GLENEAGLE HOMESTEAD
MINOR FLOODING LIKELY AT ABERGOWRIE BRIDGE LATE SUNDAY MORNING
Rainfall over the past couple of days has resulted in renewed minor flooding at Gleneagle Homestead. Further rainfall during Saturday has resulted in renewed rises at Abergowrie Bridge where minor flooding is likely late Sunday morning.
Showers and thunderstorms are forecast across the catchment for the remainder of Sunday and into Monday, which may lead to additional river level rises across the catchment. The situation is being monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.

Herbert River to Nash's Crossing:
Minor flooding is occurring at Gleneagle Homestead.
No observations are currently available for the Herbert River at Gleneagle Homestead. Based on the nearby automatic gauge, the river level is estimated to be above the minor flood level and rising.
The Herbert River at Gleneagle Homestead is likely to remain above the minor flood level (4.50 m) for the remainder of Sunday and into Monday.

Herbert River downstream of Nash's Crossing:
Minor flooding is likely at Abergowrie Bridge.
The Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge is currently at 5.92 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge is likely to reach around the minor flood level (6.00 m) late Sunday morning. The river may remain around the minor flood level (6.00 m) for the remainder of Sunday and into Monday.
